Walking through a toy factory is magical, especially one with decades of history. Wells Manufacturing Co. LLC has been manufacturing toys since 1945. "They don't make balls like they used to...", is a common phrase we hear.
Historically, U.S. manufacturing companies struggled to compete with overseas production. The results were devastating at times - closed factories and unemployed workers. Factories, once booming with hard work and laugher, were left abandoned.
Wells Manufacturing Co. stayed alive, but not without wounds. The lights stayed on with new ownership in 1997. The machines remained strong and capable, as did one of the original workers, Lorrie Nichols.
Lorrie is going on her 32nd year at Wells. She is currently the director of operations, overseeing all divisions of Wells, including Fetch Boy. She can describe every piece of machinery and every rubber formula ingredient. Her hands pass through almost every quality mixture of sponge rubber.
The belief at Wells is quality ingredients mixed with decades of joy make for an amazing product. The legacy and joy live on, thanks to our customers.
