Smooch Your Pooch...Or Not!?

Smooch Your Pooch...Or Not!?

It’s almost Valentine's Day – nothing sets the tone like passing three isles of pink vomit and candy in a Giant Eagle. What a time to experience love and affection. Don’t have a partner? Who cares! Pets are better anyway.

Results from a poll (by Riley Organics) showed:

52% of dog owners would rather kiss their dog instead of their partner. They would also choose to sleep in bed with their dog over their partner.

Hilarious! Maybe even obvious!? Dogs are the best. But…. guess what?

This gets dark. According to the American Kennel Club, dogs don’t often understand human affection. That’s right, they are most likely thinking, “What the hell are you doing? Let me go, let me live my dog life, Jennifer.”

The AKC article stated, “Dogs don’t like hugs.” SERIOULSY? They also shared a summary of results from a research study done by Dr. Stanley Coren:

Essentially, he reviewed 250 photos of dogs being hugged and found that 81% of the dogs showed signs of stress via their body language!

How can we love under these conditions!?

To sum it up, we all will probably continue to hug and kiss our dogs. Do they like it? Research says no, but who really knows what they are thinking, right? At the end of the day, we will continue to show love to our dogs in so many ways; one of these being the classic love dog sign --- F-E-T-C-H.
